Don’t Drink The Water
in Mittagong this July!
The highlands Theatre Group beckons you to leave the warmth of your open fires for one evening this Winter, to enjoy their laugh-out-loud comedy Don’t Drink The Water.
Set in the US Embassy of an unknown country behind the Iron Curtain, the action revolves around tourists from New Jersey, the Hollander family - Walter, Marion and their daughter Susan. After taking some holiday snaps in an inappropriate location, the family are forced to flee from the pursuing secret police. With the ambassador away, they are left in the incapable hands of his bumbling son Alex Magee and all kinds of plans are hatched for their escape ......with all ending in some kind of hilarious chaos!
Director Jan Merriman says Don’t Drink The Water has all the clever snappy dialogue you'd expect from Woody Allen, and lots of very fast-paced physical comedy.” It has been a favourite of hers for some time and although she has “been directing plays elsewhere for decades” she is excited for this to be her first with the Highlands Theatre Group.
So, to break the Winter hibernation and have a fun night out, join us this July!
